Lifters shine at Master World Cup, Nationals

USA Weightlifting did an outstanding job serving as host of the IWF Masters World Cup and the USAW National Championships in Dallas, TX. CHFP Head Coach Cara Heads Slaughter had three athletes competing during the week. First up was John Bova who was competing in the IWF Masters World Cup. John delivered an exceptional 6/6 performance on the plafform, leading to personal bests on both lifts- PR 98 kg snatch, PR 122 kg CJ, capped with a PR total of 220 kg, sweeping the gold medals in the M35 69 kg class. Reception to celebrate one year mark to The Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Cara Heads Slaughter had the opportunity to join fellow Olympians and other dignitaries at the Embassy of Brazil for a reception to celebrate the one year mark to The Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Held at the residence of the Ambassador of Brazil, Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado, attendees included several Olympians, diplomatic dignataries and business leaders from South America, congressional staff, and representatives of the USOC and the local NBC affiliate.
