CHFP Athletes Brown, Elam excel at University/U25 Nationals

Similar to the past 2 years, CHFP Weightlifting had two athletes compete at the National University and U25 Championships. This year's event was held on the campus of Weber State University in Ogden, UT.

Candace Bethune-Brown [63 kg] went 3/3 in the snatch with a PR lift of 72 kg. Candace was credited with a best clean and jerk of 83 kg to finish with a 155 kg total on a solid 5/6 performance.

Onzy Elam II [85kg] delivered an epic 6 for 6 performance. Onzy combined a best snatch of 126 kg with a lifetime best clean and jerk of 156 kg to set a PR total of 282 kg. He even had the honor of having his 6for6 bracelet presented to him following the competition by Olympian Paul Fleschler. Meet Scoreboard: 118-122-126/149-154-156*/282*

Between the two, Candace and Onzy were successful on 11 of 12 attempts and collected 3 competition PRs. And a big thanks goes to the competition support team: Kari Webster and Fatima Khan. Well done squad!
