CHFP Squad finds Personal Best Gold Rush in California

CHFP Weightlifting traveled with five athletes to Pleasanton, California to compete at the National Junior/University/Under 25 Championships. Each member arrived with various objectives and aspirations, but all arrived focused and prepared and it showed on the platform, collectively as a group successful on 26/30 attempts.

Morgan Bramble and Cole Bramble both competed very well after extended time away from national competition. Morgan [55 kg] delivered a solid performance at the National Junior Championships going 4/6 with a best snatch of 66 kg and a best clean and jerk of 82 kg for a 148 kg total.

Cole [89 kg] made his return to national competition at the National Junior Championships making easy work of his attempts going 3/3 in the snatch with a best lift of 120 kg and 2/3 in the clean and jerk with a best lift of 148 kg.

Cole Bramble enjoyed his time back in national competition.

Lexi Moylan displayed exceptional poise at her first national championship with a 6/6, PR performance. Competing in the National U25 Championships, Lexi [64 kg] was a perfect 6/6 with PRs across the board- 76 kg in the snatch, 94 kg in the clean and jerk, and 170 kg for total. Her PR total also secured qualification to compete at the 2020 American Open Finals.

Youth athlete Bella Rivera continues to shine with another PR performance at the National Junior Championships that should position her to vie for a spot on Team USA at Youth Pan Ams and Worlds later this year. 14 year old Bella [71 kg] combined a best snatch of 74 kg with two LIFETIME PRs in the clean and jerk (94 kg and 96 kg) to finish with a personal best total at 170 kg!

Avery Owens [81 kg] looked sharp in her tune up for Junior World Championships next month in Bucharest, Romania with a 6 for 6 performance to earn her first Junior National title. Avery breezed through six easy attempts including setting three LIFETIME power clean PRs at 100 kg, 104 kg and 106 kg.

Avery Owens is the 2020 Junior National Champion in the 81 kg class
